Shell evolution in neutron-rich nuclei: the single particle perspective

چکیده
The isospin dependence of spin-orbit (SO) splitting has become increasingly important as N/Z increases in neutron-rich nuclei. Following the initial independent-particle strategy towards explaining occurrence magic numbers, we have systematically investigated effect on shell evolution nuclei within Woods-Saxon (WS) mean-field potential plus term. It is found that new numbers N = 14 and =16 may emerge if one changes sign isospin-dependent term coupling while traditional number 20 disappear. 28 expected to be destroyed despite choice part splitting, corresponding strength SO Meanwhile, 50 82 shells persist single particle scheme, although there decreasing trend for their gaps extreme proton-deficient Besides, an appreciable energy gap appears at 32 34 Ca isotopes. All these results are more consistent with those interacting model, when enhancing independent model. present study provide a reasonable starting point not only model but also other nuclear many-body calculations neutron-dripline Segre chart.

Shell model studies of neutron rich nuclei ⋆
We discuss the present status of the description of the structure of the very neutron rich nuclei, in the framework of modern large scale shell model calculations. Particular attention is paid to the interaction related issues, as well as to the problems of the shell model approach at the neutron drip line. We present detailed results for nuclei around N=20 and, more briefly, we discuss some sa...

The low-lying states in 106Zr and 108Zr have been investigated by means of β-γ and isomer spectroscopy at the RI beam factory, respectively. A new isomer with a half-life of 620±150 ns has been identified in 108Zr. For the sequence of even-even Zr isotopes, the excitation energies of the first 2+ states reach a minimum at N = 64 and gradually increase as the neutron number increases up to N = 6...
متن کاملOne-neutron removal reactions on neutron-rich psd-shell nuclei
A systematic study of high energy, one-neutron removal reactions on 23 neutronrich, psd–shell nuclei (Z = 5−9, A = 12−25) has been carried out. The longitudinal momentum distributions of the core fragments and corresponding single-neutron removal cross sections are reported for reactions on a carbon target. Extended Glauber model calculations, weighted by the spectroscopic factors obtained from...
متن کاملSHELL MODEL STUDY OF EVEN-EVEN Te NEUTRON-RICH NUCLEI
Large-scale shell model calculations were performed for neutron-rich even-even Te using a realistic effective interaction derived from CDBonn nucleon-nucleon potential for the positive and negative parity states. The calculated results are compared with the recently available experimental data. The transition rates B(E2; 0 →2) are also calculated by taking into consideration core polarization e...
متن کاملGamow shell model description of neutron-rich nuclei.
This work presents the first continuum shell-model study of weakly bound neutron-rich nuclei involving multiconfiguration mixing. For the single-particle basis, the complex-energy Berggren ensemble representing the bound single-particle states, narrow resonances, and the nonresonant continuum background is taken. Our shell-model Hamiltonian consists of a one-body finite potential and a zero-ran...
